The Women’s Choir is an SSA choir of female singers and is made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This group is selected by audition and meets all year. The Women’s Choir sings a wide variety of classical literature and also performs popular selections with choreography. Choir members are expected to read music and have knowledge of music fundamentals. The Women’s Choir was recognized as the Overall Choral Music Winner at a Fiesta-Val competition in Williamsburg, VA, in 2008. They received 2nd Place in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival in 2010, and 1st Place in the Women's Choir Division of the Heritage Music Festival in Orlando, 2011. They also received a Superior Rating at the North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication in performance and sight-reading. Participation in the Women’s Choir is students who have a dedication to excellence in choral music.
