Mrs. McCoy has been the Choral Director at Fuquay-Varina High School since the fall of 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University, and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mrs. McCoy’s high school choirs have consistently earned Superior ratings at District Festival and have been selected as winners at numerous festivals around the nation. She has been the high school choral director at Saint James High School in Montgomery, AL, and Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences in Chattanooga, TN. Before coming to Fuquay-Varina High School she taught music classes at Johnston County Community College in Smithfield, NC. She has also taught private voice and piano, and has been director/music director for over twenty-five musical theatre productions in high schools or community theatres across the south. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and MENC the National Association for Music Education. She is also a sponsor of the Tri-M Music Honor Society at FVHS.
