ALL CHAPERONES MUST BE REGISTERED AND APPROVED BY WAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM PRIOR TO WORKING WITH STUDENTS.
(This can be done in the media center of any WCPSS school)
Please arrive at the school at the time students are asked to be there. There are always tasks to be done before leaving on a trip.
Assist students, choral director and other parents as needed. (i.e.: loading buses, cars, etc.)
Once students are on the bus, get a head count. (Two chaperones should do this to be sure of the count) If stops are made on route to our destination, a head count should be done each time before the buses roll again.
Chaperones should keep students in order on the bus, making sure they remain in their seats at all times, keep noise at a reasonable level, all body parts inside windows, and respectful (language included) to all.
Be prepared to pay your own way unless otherwise indicated by choral director.
At the destination, chaperones should stay with their group and assist as needed. Have cell phone numbers of other chaperones in case of emergency.
Once the group returns to FVHS, chaperones need to assist in making sure everything is unloaded from the buses and help the director make sure every student has a ride home.
Chaperones will communicate with one another and work together in a positive and respectful way. Chaperones are on the trip to supervise the students at all times. If problems occur with a student, chaperones are to report to the director.
